Well then, wonder no more! The Empire Center for Public Policy, Inc. which is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit think tank based in Albany, New York–is doing the work for us. Through a website called “See Through NY” they are attempting to give New Yorkers a clear view of how their state and local tax dollars are spent. Transparency, right?
On this website, you can find information about what anyone and everyone is making and spending as part of the state system. This includes local, county, and state positions. Want to see how much was spent on state contracts, or compare funding across school districts and were teacher pay ranks within each of them? Then you’re in luck!
